Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients: lean ground beef, fresh cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and any additional vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat about 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
  • Incorporate chopped cabbage and any other vegetables, stirring them in and cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Pour in low-sodium soy sauce and stir well to coat all ingredients evenly.
  • Continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
