Instructions
 

Caramelize the Onions

  • Begin by heating a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add two large sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally, allowing them to cook for about 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown and caramelized.

Prepare the Meat Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine one pound of ground beef, one cup of breadcrumbs, and the caramelized onions. Additionally, add two teaspoons of garlic powder, one teaspoon of onion powder, and two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Mix everything together until well combined.

Shape the Meatloaf

  • Once the mixture is thoroughly combined, shape it into a loaf. Place the formed meatloaf into a greased baking dish.

Preheat the Oven

  • While shaping the meatloaf, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Meatloaf

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 hour. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Add Cheese Topping

  • About 10 minutes before the meatloaf is done, sprinkle one cup of shredded cheese on top.

Rest and Serve

  • Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice and serve with your favorite sides.
