Instructions
 

Boil the Potatoes

  • Start by placing your chosen starchy potatoes in a large pot filled with salted water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes.

Smash Them

  • Once the potatoes are boiled, drain them and let them cool for a few minutes. Then, place the potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a fork or a potato masher, gently smash each potato until it is flattened but still intact.

Season and Oil

  • Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the smashed potatoes. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the potatoes. Feel free to add any fresh herbs at this stage for an extra burst of flavor.

Roast

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Once heated, place the baking sheet in the oven and roast the potatoes for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
